Named after the Spanish word for “adventure,” Aventura is one of the most exciting and attractive areas in Miami-Dade County. This suburban city is conveniently located in a central location, close to Downtown Miami and the beautiful white sand beaches of Florida.
Aventura was developed as a planned suburb in the early 1970s, becoming a fully-incorporated city in 1995. Over the years, Aventura became known for its shopping center and luxurious homes and resorts.
Today, the area boasts sleek high-rise condominium buildings and gorgeous single-family homes. Smaller houses, many designed with Spanish-style architecture and featuring backyard swimming pools, can fit a variety of budgets. Condos tend to be pricier since many come with luxury amenities and ocean views.

Similar to many other areas surrounding Miami, Aventura has a very international population. Many residents hail from Brazil, Cuba, Colombia, and Russia. The area is great for families, boasting an excellent school system and plenty of fun things to do. Due to Aventura’s central location, many residents commute to Miami or Fort Lauderdale.

Aventura hosts plenty of events for its residents, including an annual City Hall Gala and incredible stage shows at the Aventura Center. Catch a game at the Capital One Orange Bowl—the stadium plays host to fundraising events throughout the year, such as 5k races and food festivals. The Turnberry Isle Country Club also hosts an annual golf and tennis tournament.
Kids and families alike will have a blast at Tidal Cove Waterpark, the perfect place to cool down on a hot summer day. Explore Oleta River State Park, a lush and relaxing urban park featuring bike trails, rustic cabins, and a youth campground. Pelican Community Park is also a great place to take the family to enjoy various seasonal programs and after-school day camps.
